An excellent, well maintained and very appealing hotel in a quiet setting in its own grounds. A large, comfortable and elegant room, which, even at the end of January, greeted you with a pleasant warmth as you walked in. Staff very welcoming, friendly and attentive, pleasant lounge bar and very good evening dinner and breakfast. A gem, when a number of supposed country house hotels appear increasingly un cared for and un loved by their owners.

This is a charming hotel which is super dog friendly. The room we had was spacious clean and warm. There was a lovely comfy bed. It was downstairs so easy access to the grounds to take our dog out for a walk. Great location near to motorways so excellent for us visiting friends and family. Good choice of vegan foods too which was nice to see. Dean in the bar was superb, there was also a lovely young lady at breakfast who set us up in the bar with white table cloth etc so our dog could be with us without affecting other guests in the main breakfast room. She remembered what we wanted for brekkie and could not have been more attentive. (Sorry, I didn’t get her name). All staff gave our dog a fuss. This was our third stay here and whilst it has always been a great place to stay it felt even better this time. Not sure if there has been more attention to training or a new manager but it was superb. Thank you

Only spent one night here to visit friends, knew of the place as they live a short walk away. Lovely historical building. Loved the room, larger than expected, bathroom with bath & separate shower was perfect. Everything clean & well maintained. Tasty, freshly cooked breakfast served in elegant dining room with white tablecloths...felt special! Very polite & efficient staff. Definately stay here again. Thank you.

My sister and I have just returned from a local school reunion where we stayed overnight in Farrington Lodge. The location was ideal for us and we really could not fault the staff, service and facilities. Our stay was excellent value for money, and both of us would definitely return with our respective families. Our compliments and thanks to all the staff for being so hospitable. The food was also great thank you.

Lovely location, close to rail links and hotel arranged taxis for us. Rooms very comfortable, seven family members booked. The 30 somethings, thought hotel was dated, but the parents saw it as traditional and comfortable. Heating in bedroom good as visited in temperature of 2°. Underfloor heating in bath/shower room was excellent, be careful when coming out of the shower, mat slipped. Sorry to say, buffet breakfast wasn't to a good standard. Breakfast, although cooked, and I'm sure, followed food hygiene regulations, gave the appearance of undercooked and all utems were tepid, bread partially toasted on one side. I plated my breakfast until I got to the eggs...only to be told that they weren't ready and I would have to come back. When they arrived, delighted to say, they were very good! Staff were lovely and welcoming, feel that Management should review their induction training though. All this said, we were staying for one night, would I return if in the area, yes I would but would not stay for breakfast, albeit this was included in the price. It's sad that we feel this way, but like to write an honest review.

My wife and I stayed on Valentine's day for one night. We had called at the hotel previously when the deputy manager spoke to us and showed us the rooms as we asked for a downstairs room with a walk-in shower. The room we chose was spacious and comfortable and with a good outlook. Service of dinner in the restaurant that evening was friendly and attentive and the food was good. The deputy manager was on hand on both days and was at pains to ensure that the stay was to our requirements. In all we had a very relaxing and pleasant stay.
